Dillard’s, a family owned and operated company, is a high scale retail store. The Dillard’s Internet Facility is responsible for receiving large quantities of merchandise, sorting the merchandise, and filling customer orders from the internet, catalogs, and stores.
William Dillard, the founder of Dillard’s Inc., started his success story in 1938, when with $8,000 borrowed from his father; he opened a small store in Nashville, Arkansas.
Dillard’s competitive strategy is to offer exceptional customer service as well as attractively priced national name brand merchandise. Presently, the chain consists of approximately 277 Dillard’s stores locations and 20 clearance centers spanning 29 states and an Internet store at www.dillards.com located in Maumelle, AR.
